The Director of Communications is a senior position within the firm's Global Communications and Marketing team, responsible for the firm's communications efforts, including corporate, financial and product PR and internal communications.

The Director of Communications will work closely with the Marketing, Management, Sales, Investor Relations, and investment teams across the firm to lead the firm's global communication strategy. The role will directly advise the CEO, Senior Management and the Board, alongside the Global Head of Communications & Marketing.

This dynamic business is a global active investment management firm, which runs $113.7bn* of client capital in liquid and private markets, managed by investment specialists based around the world. Headquartered in London, the firm has 15 international offices and operates across multiple jurisdictions.

The five specialist investment engines house numerous investment teams, working collaboratively within the framework of the firm, with a high degree of investment autonomy. The teams invest across a diverse range of strategies and asset classes with highly specialised approaches, with long only and alternative strategies run on a discretionary and quantitative basis in single and multi-manager formats.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Devise and lead the firm's global communications programme, including financial, corporate and product PR at a group and investment engine level

• Lead and manage the firm's communications team and the implementation of external and internal communications activities globally

• Act as an advisor to media engagement, and maintain senior media relationships

• Develop a strong understanding of the firm's strategy, messages and sales objectives across a range of geographical areas in order to effectively support strategic and tactical branding activity globally

• Play a leading role working to the firm's strategic branding objectives, including working alongside the wider Communications, Marketing and Sales teams to deliver branding activity

• Coordinate with relevant internal teams as required, including Sales, Investor Relations, Company Secretary, Human Resources and investment and management teams

• Coordinate with industry bodies such as the Hedge Fund Working Group and AIMA

• Some international travel required

Qualifications and Skills:

• Experience of leading global strategic communications programmes, particularly within an asset management context

• Strong media relationships at a senior level

• Track record of devising and implementing branding initiatives

• Experience of advising senior leaders and stakeholders on reputation management and branding

• Expertise and track record in effectively tracking, managing and responding to crises and issues

• Excellent investment/financial product knowledge

• A track record in timely and effective project management

• Strong organisation and delegation skills necessary, including team management

• Ability to prioritise assignments, based on a broad understanding of the business requirements

• Technical understanding of the firm's products

• Strategic thinker and team player

• Innovative, creative and a self-starter

• High levels of discretion

• Languages preferred
