The role

To support current business and to assist in this continued growth, there is an exciting new opportunity for an Account Manager within this dynamic, ambitious and well-established team.

The role will cover a variety of industries including property, defence and pharmaceuticals and you will play an integral part in building and developing communications strategies in support of some of the UK's most high profile companies. The team also has involvement in a number of other sectors and so there is a generalist element to the role. While the need is for a financial skills set (M&A and calendar experience), activities are broad and encompass the entire communications mix. This is a truly blended role covering both corporate and financial communications.

Primary duties:

• Devising and implementing communications strategies and programmes

• Developing messaging materials for communications collaterals (key messages, proposals, presentations, scripts, press releases, Q&A etc.)

• Researching, news monitoring, press analysis and summaries

• Submitting press releases to RNS, in partnership with the Team Assistant

• Forging positive relationships with clients, press and investment analysts

• Account Management duties – providing ongoing counsel and support to clients

• Media relations – understanding of the broad media landscape, pitching stories and responding to in-coming calls

• Buy and sell-side perception studies

• New business

• Researching for new business opportunities

• Developing and crafting content; presenting at pitches

• Establishing and deepening wider industry relationships

Experience required

• Proven track record of both financial and corporate media relations expertise with a deep understanding of the UK business media landscape

• Experience of financial calendar, IPO and M&A situations

• Confident in advising on the use of new and established channels and tactics – from traditional print media, through online and to social

• Someone who is a creative thinker

• An agenda-setter – capable of managing and driving the direction of multiple client accounts in a dynamic and pressurised environment without day-to-day oversight

• Proven ability to see opportunities to grow existing client relationships to include additional solutions and services
