The Editor role is a senior position within the firm’s Global Communications and Markerting team, responsible for the editing and production of firm’s marketing and branding content.

This is a challenging and varied role that requires an individual with flexibility and a solid background within the financial services sector, ideally the world of alternative investment.

The firm is one of the world’s largest independent alternative investment management groups. The component businesses have diverse long/short and long only strategies spanning equity, credit, managed futures, convertibles, emerging markets and multi-managers.

Position Summary:

This Editor will work as part of Global Communications and Marketing to support and deliver firm’s branding and sales objectives through the production of regular thought leadership and investment commentary across the firm's investment engines, as well as assisting in the generation of select written content, copy and marketing materials and editing content and materials produced across the firm.

This role will be responsible for planning, writing and editing content, working closely with multiple points of contact across the business, including portfolio managers, investment teams, Sales, Communications & Marketing, Client Operations and Management to develop and drive forward an ongoing pipeline of articles and publications.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Plan, write and edit original, compelling thought leadership, advertorials, investment commentaries  and other materials including speeches and scripts, that will be used to support the firm’s brand positioning, client relations and ongoing sales objectives
  • Liaise with sales,  investment managers  and communications to develop ideas and source relevant and interesting topics/themes
  • Support others across the business in researching and writing articles and commentaries, providing an editorial overview
  • Provide editorial overview for marketing materials to ensure high quality production and consistent messaging  to help shape and define the firm’s story and messaging
  • Ensure investment and strategy knowledge is current by attending relevant internal investment team meetings and keeping up to date with industry news
  • Be proactive in identifying current news stories or issues that could form the basis of updates for clients
  • Manage compliance sign off process for all thought leadership, in accordance with internal procedures

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Senior editorial experience in investment management or related industry
  • Extensive experience of writing about investments within the financial services industry or journalism
  • Excellent writing and numeracy skills
  • Technical understanding of the businesses products
  • CFA/IMC/Finance qualification preferred
  • Ability to prioritise assignments, based on a broad understanding of the business requirements, to meet project deliverables within tight deadlines
  • Interest in current affairs and industry topics including political and regulatory
  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • High levels of discretion
  • Fluency in more than one language (as well as English) useful but not essential
