Director and London Lead – Boutique Crisis and Reputation Management Firm

This boutique "Power 50" US headquartered firm is looking for a highflying Director to lead and grow their London office. You will have day to day support and interaction with the mother ship in New York, as well as other offices the US, Europe and Asia mandates tend to be global.

You will be an expert in and relish complex client work, as this firm is renowned for its unique expertise in issue and crisis management, regulatory and litigation communications, M&A, and CEO transitions and restructurings.

You will already be operating at Senior level at another Communications business, or in an Inhouse role, setting the strategy and providing strategic communications counsel. While you might not be leading a team currently, you will be ready to step up.

Clients are hugely varied, so you will need to be an agile operator who is comfortable working across multiple sectors and a broad range of issues concurrently.

Responsibilities include:

• Crafting strategy and lead day to day client issues and activity, establishing relationships and acting as the main point of contact

• Building relationships internally with colleagues globally

• Building the London client list, existing remits and capabilities

• Supervising the work of juniors, monitoring workflow, and managing their development

• Acting as an ambassador for the business at all times, always sensitive to business opportunities

Skills and Experience Required

• Previous experience in crisis communications and/or a corporate reputation management role is a must

• Previous experience in a consultancy or client servicing environment is important

• Strong analytical ability, a liking for complex issues, ability to see patterns and links between events that are not necessarily obvious to others and respond effectively to them

• Ability maintain a calm, objective and logical approach when dealing with challenging situations

• Media relations and other stakeholder engagement exposure essential

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Excellent advisory abilities
