The Head of Digital role is a senior position within the firm’s Global Communications and Marketing team, responsible for producing and implementing website and digital strategies with clear, measurable goals and objectives.  This is a challenging and varied role that requires an individual with flexibility and a solid background within the financial services sector, ideally the world of alternative investment.

The firm is one of the world’s largest independent alternative investment management groups. The component businesses have diverse long/short and long only strategies spanning equity, credit, managed futures, convertibles, emerging markets and multi-managers.

Position Summary:
Overseeing a team of two, the Head of Digital role will span the business, ensuring a solid understanding of the firm’s objectives globally, both at the corporate level, and across the firm’s five investment engines. The role will also work closely with the firm’s Sales team as part of the communications and marketing team, assisting them in meeting their commercial objectives by providing them with appropriate digital tools, analysis, data and advice.

The Head of Digital will be a highly experienced and motivated individual, with strong technical skills and experience, able to advise the firm on best-practice digital activity. They will have an interest in data analytics, an ability to deliver on KPIs and proven success of working in a target-driven environment.

Responsibilities and Duties:
The position would suit a dynamic ‘problem solver’, who can both adapt existing systems to improve the overall offering (with the skills to both quickly understand the existing infrastructure in order to evolve it) as well as to build something new, to optimise how clients and stakeholders are served.

- Devise and implement website and digital brand strategy, with clear and measurable goals and objectives
- Manage key digital projects for the firm, including the creation of a web-based client portal and optimisation of the digital profile
- Oversee implementation of, and advise on, the firm’s digital marketing strategy, including email campaigns and digital targeting including effective corporate engagement with social media channels
- Responsible for the production of digital multimedia marketing materials including video, webcasts and podcasts etc.
- Develop efficient methods of testing propositions, channels and audience targeting techniques to deliver the optimum level of leads
- Develop and implement all online lead generation strategies and plans to drive traffic and increase online engagement with the business
- Implement SEO strategy and provide ongoing recommendations for SEO – from online keyword research, tagging and indexing to offline SEO work, including link prospecting
- Analyse user behaviour (using heat maps, screen recordings, etc.) and use the findings to conduct testing and development
- Effectively manage appropriate third party relationships with agency, partners and affiliates, ensuring that there are well defined targets and strategies in place
- Deliver a world-class online client journey for visitors to the website
- Manage the online look and feel of all web presence and online presentation of the firm's offering
- Thorough understanding of tools and techniques used in online communications, PPC, SEO, email marketing and SEM
- Manage social media presence and direct programs to improve social media reputation and recognition
- Undertake continuous analysis of competitive environment and client trends
- Provide digital advice, including collating and sharing accurate data, insights and best-practice recommendations – ensuring the firm's profile is up to date with the latest digital practices in accordance with the nature of our business
- Management of daily, weekly and monthly executive reports, monitoring performance

Qualifications and Skills:

- Experience implementing digital marketing/communications programmes, including proven experience in digital marketing
- Strong organisation skills and ability to prioritise assignments, based on a broad understanding of the business requirements, to meet project deliverables
- Up to speed with current and online marketing techniques and best practices
- Thorough knowledge of web analytics (e.g. Google Analytics, WebTrends etc.) and Google Ad-words – certification in any of these would be advantageous
- Strategic thinker and team player

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Customer-oriented approach with aptitude
- Genuine interest in the investment management industry
- Financial services/PLC experience preferred
- Languages useful but not essential
